Insurance
What is Insurance at Extoggery? It is protection from theft of your items. It does not cover damage or missing pieces.
It also provides you with the services of the staff who will search the store for your unsold, insured items freeing your time up to do other enjoyable things.
The cost of this service is $2.00 per item and must be requested at the time of consignment. You can choose to have insurance based on a dollar value i.e. on all items priced over $30, or only on specific items.Please note that the minimum value amount that can be insured is $20. Any items priced under $20 cannot be insured.
The amount of insurance is charged to your account at the beginning of your consignment period and proceeds from the sale of your items is applied to this charge before there is a credit balance in your account.
In the unlikely event that none of your insured items sell, the charge remains on your account.
Extoggery does not have a high theft rate but it is an unfortunate part of the retail industry that does happen.
Insurance only guarantees that you will receive your 45% share of our original price if the item does not sell or is not returned. It does not guarantee the return of your item.
To activate the insurance, please call the store where your items are for sale before your expiration date and request a locate.This is not done automatically. You will be given a locate number and the date when it will be ready. This is 7 Days from your request. Items are then held for another 7 days for pickup. If you do not pick up your items within the 7 day time frame they are donated to charity. Our computer system does not allow payouts after the locate expiry date so please make sure that you always receive the dates from the staff when you place your locate. Please make sure that you always receive your locate number. It is your proof that you have requested the service. Without this number, the policy is void.
If you can't get to the store in this time frame, please arrange to have someone else pick up your items or money. Our system is not set up for extensions and we do not want any of our valued clients to be disappointed.
Once your consignment has expired, locates cannot be processed.
